Reflection on EDU456

Assalamualaikum and hello readers. As we have gone through our lesson during week 10, this will be my last blog post for now. For 10 weeks of learning on EDU456, I have learned so much not just in ways of teaching or digital platforms for teachers and educators but so many more. After all the lessons, I have fully understood that the scope of being an educator is not just heading to class every single day and teaching everything that needed to be taught. A lot of things have to be certain before, during, and after a teaching lesson. This includes types of teaching, platforms for educators, digital apps that help with teaching, and many more. Learning about the varieties of apps and software that could be used for teaching does open my eyes to how much, we as educators and everyone, could do. Using Canva to make notes and infographics, learning more usage just from Microsoft Word and Excel, and learning on other various programs that we have used throughout what we learn is very fu...

Universal Design for Learning Classroom - Flipped Learning

Image
Assalamualaikum and a very good day readers. Currently, right now I am writing on week 9 of our lesson. For this week, we learned on UDL or Universal Design for Learning, where this topic focuses on the flexibility of learning for all various needs of students. In my personal teaching approach for my classroom, I would prefer to use flipped learning to ease my students. As mathematics would not be the easiest for all students, I think that applying flipped learning will let students feel much easier at learning this subject. This is because flipped learning allows students to read and understand a certain topic first before attending class. Hence, allowing them to be prepared for what we would learn during class. In addition, letting students read on a certain topic first, will allow teachers to know which topics or chapters that is the hardest for them. By that, teachers could focus more on certain topics with the students, thus, helping each of the students to understand that to...

Flipped Classroom - YouTube

Image
Assalamualaikum and a very good day to all readers. As it has been 8 weeks of learning, there is so much that I have learned. In this week's lesson, we were tasked to write our opinion on the way or platform for the flipped classroom. The one that I have chosen is YouTube. YouTube is not something new for anyone anymore. The application is useful for anyone to use to watch videos of learning, fun, lifestyle, foods, and, etc. As a student, we mainly use YouTube as a platform for learning. Since the start of online distance learning, YouTube was one of the main platforms for lecturers to post their videos of lectures and teaching. As the video is posted on YouTube, it makes learning so much easier as some of us students have internet connection problems. By this, we are able to watch it any other time when our connection is much more stable. Aside from that, lecturers have also linked a video from YouTube itself as additional materials for us to look at. As YouTube is a massive plat...

From this, we were instructed to make a review of an online classroom application. One of the most interesting applications that I have decided to take a look at is Kahoot!. Kahoot! is an online platform that uses a game-based learning system. This application is very user-friendly for both students, teachers, and etc. It is also very simple to use such as to present your slides of teaching while also quizzing your students. One of the major perks of using Kahoot! is that it is very reliable and interactive for users. Plus, Kahoot! can be easily accessed using a web browser or by downloading its' app on your personal devices. Reflection on online learning

Image
Assalamualaikum and a very good day to readers. After 5 weeks of lessons, we were asked about our experience regarding online learning. For someone who has been experiencing online learning since the fourth semester of diploma by online distance learning, there is a lot to talk about. From my experience, online learning means that learning by using the online platform. Where educators use online programs to teach students and also assess them. To start, there is quite a number of perks. One of them is the fluidity of learning. By using online learning, I was able to learn or take classes and do tasks anywhere I am. I could also use my mobile devices, such as smartphones, personal laptops, and even tablets. This helps me to be able to not feel stuck learning in the same room, same class, same place every time. Secondly, there are diverse types of programs that I was able to use and learn from. Some of them such as Kahoot, Canva, and etc. This does not just help to increase my abili...
